While you’re waiting for your emergency appointment
- To relieve irritation and reduce swelling you can dissolve a teaspoon of salt in a mug of boiling water. When it has cooled you can use it as a warm mouthwash.
- If you have knocked a tooth out, put it in a glass of milk and take it to your appointment. Try not to touch it too much and don’t use any cleaning products on it
- If you are experiencing pain surrounding one specific tooth, you could have something stuck in the gum tissue or between your teeth. Use a cold compress to help reduce swelling and numb irritation.
- Try and get in to see a dentist as soon as possible.
