We provide NHS dentistry from two of our conveniently located dental practices in Central London – our Chalton Street practice in Euston and our Gray’s Inn Road practice. We are taking on new NHS patients at both practices.
Healthy teeth and gums for life and good oral hygiene are important, and we firmly believe that everyone should have access to good quality, NHS dental services at a reasonable cost.
Please note, Dental Smiles London is privately owned and managed. It offers limited NHS dentistry at certain locations. Not all treatments offered by Dental Smiles London are available on the NHS.
NHS or private?
It is important to understand that there are differences between NHS services and those offered privately. For example, our private dental services offer a wider range of treatments and different materials than our NHS services.
Before you begin a course of treatment please make sure you know if you are being treated privately or as an NHS patient. This is likely to affect the price you pay and the level of service you are entitled to in terms of timings and availability.
The NHS service we provide include (but are not limited to):
- Clinical examination and report
- Basic fillings
- Scaling for tartar removal (hygienist not available on NHS)
- Some tooth extractions
- Some basic tooth restorations
- Some basic crown and bridge work
- Root canal treatment (if within the capability of our NHS general dentist)
- Some dentures
Cosmetic treatments such as cosmetic white fillings and crowns, tooth/cleaning polishing for non-health reasons, veneers, implants and teeth whitening are not available on the NHS.
If you wish to find out more about the Cosmetic Dentistry we offer privately, your dentist will be more than happy to discuss these treatments with you.
The choice between NHS and private dental treatment is yours. If you are unsure about the most suitable route for you and your family, please ask us to explain the differences so that you can make an informed choice and be comfortable with the decision you make.
